• The first step to become a New York State Trooper is your application to take the New York State Trooper Entrance Examination

• The examination is administered at Pearson VUE testing centers. After applying you will receive an email from Pearson VUE to schedule your examination, there will be a fee of $44.00 payable to Pearson VUE. Any changes to your exam schedule must be completed through Pearson VUE.

• The NYSP is not responsible for applications that are not properly completed.

• You will receive a confirmation message at the end of the application process indicating your application was successful. If you leave the process before receiving this message, all information entered will not be saved and must be re-entered at a later time to apply.

Application Submission

When you submit the application, a confirmation will be generated containing your personal information.

1. Be sure to save this confirmation for your records.
2. Once your application is complete you will receive an email from Pearson VUE Testing Centers, within 24 hours, to select your testing site center location, along with the date and time of your test.
